Youth Action

The YMCA of Niagara’s Youth Action program is for all youth in grades 4-8 (age 9 to 14) - youth do not have to be a YMCA member to participate. Programs are offered throughout the Niagara region, and consist of four components: Youth Action School Program, Leaders in Action, Friday Nights and Dances. These programs offer youth a safe and positive environment in which they can learn new skills, participate in physical activities and socialize with friends while having a positive role model to assist and guide them and build their Developmental Assets.

Youth Action has been offered to youth in the Niagara community since 1985 with support from United Way of St. Catharines and District, YMCA Strong Kids, Welland Neighbourhood Association, Canadian Tire Jump Start and Port Colborne Hydro.

Youth Action School Program:

This FREE recreational drop in program is offered throughout the week at local school gymnasiums Jumpstartthroughout the Niagara region. Youth Action School Program gives youth the opportunity to participate in active games, play sports, and participate in special events and more. Youth Action School Program does not run on PD Days or School Holidays.
