Parent Advisory Committee – Volunteer Job Description

Purpose: The purpose of the Parent Advisory Committee is:

• To provide feedback to the YMCA and to advise on ways to enhance quality of service for the entire centre community.
• To bring to the attention of the YMCA specific needs and issues which reflect the families and the centre community.
• To play a leadership role in the enhancement of parenting education for the members of the centre community as well as public awareness of the centre in the community at large.

Responsibilities: To be an ambassador of the YMCA. To provide input and feedback on the program. To encourage parent participation and involvement by organizing and sponsoring parent/family activities. To assist with the recruitment and development of Program Advisory Committee members.

Requirements: Active parent in the centre they represent Interest in the YMCA of Niagara association and their centre To volunteer and donate to the annual support campaign

Time Commitment: Minimum one year commitment with a maximum two year term. Attendance at bimonthly meetings from September – June.
