Games Day

YMCA Games Day programs will bring all the fun and excitement of YMCA programming right to your school!

Building Values

This program will introduce students to the YMCA values of caring, honesty, health, inclusiveness, respect and responsibility. Fun and active games will be mixed with group discussions and reflection, allowing students to learn more about the values and how to demonstrate them in their everyday lives. This program will also encourage students to be physically active and work cooperatively as a team.

Building Teams

This program will introduce students to team building and leadership skills. Students will participate in portable adventure based activities that will allow them to work together to overcome challenges. Teams will use their imagination and develop creative solutions for the challenges they are faced with. Program cost is $5 per student (for 3 hours or less) and $10 per student (for 6 hours or less). Program are available for groups as small as 30 students and as large as 120 (for most activities students will be divided into groups of approximately 15).

Program Locations

We offer the most convenient programs in Niagara because we will come to your school. The amount of field space required (and possible gym space) will be based on the number of students you have participating and the program.

Rainy Day Program

In the event of rain, our YMCA staff will run a rainy day program for your students in the gymnasium. Based on availability schools will be given the option to reschedule when possible.

Teacher Involvement

To ensure a memorable experience for everyone involved, YMCA staff will focus on program implementation, and we require that teachers are divided among the groups to actively supervise students.

Parent Information

Once you have registered for a YMCA Games Day a parent information sheet will be sent to the school to distribute to the parents of students participating.

We require that all parent/ guardians sign off on a Waiver / Release form allowing their student to participate in the program. Please download and complete a form.
