Since 1859, the YMCA has served the Niagara Region in many different ways. Programs and service have changed over the years but the values of the YMCA have remained stable and strong. As a charitable association, the YMCA has benefited from the generosity of individuals and families since its beginnings.
In 1928, an Endowment Fund was established, providing a financial foundation for the YMCA. The Endowment Fund has now grown into the Heritage Fund, with 160 members, supporting the work of the YMCA of Niagara. Planned giving is a creative approach to making charitable gifts that benefit the YMCA and the donor, immediately and in the future. People of all ages can participate in making a legacy gift to the YMCA that will ensure that the Association will continue to meet the needs of the community for generations to come.
The YMCA Heritage Club brings together individuals and families who support YMCA values and who have committed a major gift to the YMCA of Niagara. If you are thinking of making a planned gift to the YMCA you need to speak with your financial advisor and / or legal advisor. They will be able to advise you on your own circumstances and the tax advantages available. Planned gifts can be made to the YMCA in a variety of ways:
Your gift will enable the YMCA of Niagara to pilot new initiatives in response to community needs and enhance and upgrade facilities from which we can continue to offer people opportunities for personal growth and development.
All those who make a planned gift to the YMCA of Niagara become members of the Heritage Club. Heritage Club members are honored at a special gathering each year. At this event, you will renew memories and share experiences with friends, be updated on the activities of the YMCA and be recognized for your participation. You are also invited to the YMCA Annual Meeting and Celebration, and your name will be displayed at each of the YMCA of Niagara branches.
